Specialist wheelchair seating
Custom Moulded Seating
Ride Custom 2
The Ride Custom 2 Cushion offers all the skin and postural care of the original Ride Custom Cushion — now in a more comfortable, lighter and simpler design.
A fast, clean, intuitive and accurate process allows shapes to be rapidly scanned, then sent, along with photos and order information, through the secure, encrypted iOS app.
The cushion, made specifically to match each individual’s unique shape, helps decrease long-term skin risk and aids in sitting stability for improved functional performance.
Well-suited for the traditional custom seating user, the Custom 2 also has unique features that make it a great match for active users and growing children. The Custom 2 Cushion is most effective when coupled with a Ride® back support to aid in postural support.
Ride Custom Back
The Custom Back provides exacting support for the widest range of needs — it is the better solution for those considering traditional custom wheelchair seating and also an ideal match for the growing and active user.
The shape capture process allows the Custom Back to be made to fit virtually any size and contour. Custom Back shapes can be captured using the bead bag and vacuum system. Now you can skip the plaster step and use the RideWorks app to quickly and accurately scan a 3-D image of the shape. The Custom Back is most effective when coupled with a Ride® wheelchair cushion.

Ride seating systems are now recognized internationally for their ability to manage the broadest range of seating issues, from simple to complex. Ride Designs have a proven track record and are a firm favourite with therapists in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway and Portugal.
They continue to improve and evolve and are now used by thousands of satisfied customers.
Momentum Healthcare also made the decision to work with Sharon Sutherland who is very familiar with the Ride Designs story and has previously worked with its founder Tom Hetzel when they both worked in Jay.
Sharon hardly needs much introduction to the Irish physiotherapist or occupational therapist. But just to those who may not be familiar with her experience or qualifications let us elaborate with her bio, which will never capture her passion for seating and postural care.
It is tangible when you are in the room with her and quite infectious. This is why we have chosen to work with Sharon, she encompasses our values and drive to achieve results for our clients.
Peter Carroll has been to the Ride Designs Academy in Colorado and is fully trained up in their seating system. See more about Peter here.
Peter is working in conjunction with Sharon to bring this system to the Irish market and client. In order to facilitate multiple diaries and expenses, we need a minimum of four clients and a full day’s clinic.
Sharon Sutherland attends the clinic at the expense of Momentum Healthcare and is working independently. Sharon will act as the clinician on the day and her focus will be on the seating needs of the client and postural management.
Peter will look after the actual moulding of the client once an optimal position that all have agreed on is achieved.
